We are very lucky to have two wonderful ladies, Suzi and Tiggy who are in charge of co-ordinating all our staff at the Gaitherin and organising the Residential aspect too. Here’s what they have to say about themselves.
“I have worked at the Gaitherin since Easter 2017 and have been working with young people since 2005. I started working with an arts organisation in Glasgow while studying Community Arts at Strathclyde University. I have had various roles since then, working with groups and individuals in a way that suits each situation best. I lead a residential holiday camp in the summer, and work on a daily basis with young people in Inverurie Academy in my capacity as a Pupil Support Worker. I work with children who are struggling with a variety of issues that make school hard.”
“Originally I trained as a nursery nurse at college and worked in nurseries. Then I went on to have my first son and became a nanny for two different families where he came along. Once I had my twins I took a break from work to raise my own mad household but always made sure I was at the gaitherin!! I’ve missed one since I was 8!”
Both Suzi and Tiggy have training in 1st Aid, food hygiene, child protection and have a PVG for working with children and protected adults.
